Samburu National Park
It might not be a famous park but it sure has a lot to see. It is a home for some rare northern species wildlife such as the Grevy zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx and Gunther’s dik-dik which are known as the Samburu special six. It also hosts some of the cat family wildlife that is; lion, leopard and cheater. You will not only do game drives, but also bird watching, hiking, and mountain bike safaris.

1. Enjoy a Game drive at Samburu National Reserve
The reserve is rich in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy\’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx . The reserve is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah. wild dogs too are common and also birdlife species.

2. Kalama Community Conservancy
The wildlife in this conservancy include elephants, reticulated giraffes, Grevy\’s zebras, greater and lesser kudu, wild dogs, leopards, cheaters and many birdlife species.
3. Reteti Elephant Sanctuary
This is a sanctuary that works to give elephants protection and give them a second chance to start all over again. They rescue elephants that are orphaned, injured and even calves that do not have their mothers. The Rereti sanctuary is a representation of communities standing up united for wildlife. Visit this sanctuary to learn more about these majestic creatures.
4. The Majestic View At Malaso
It is referred to as ‘Earth’s End’ because of the dramatic viewpoints of the great rift valley. Get the chance to hike along the breath-taking cliffs and down to the valley floor. The sunrise and sunset is a must view from these escarpments and get your mind blown away. Carrying your camera along for this place is the perfect spot to take photos that will not only fill your albums but fill your memories forever.
5. Buffalo Springs National Reserve
The buffalo springs are in the south side of the Samburu national reserve. It hosts Wildlife including Grants zebra and the endangered Grevy\’s zebra. Other species of mammal include reticulated giraffes, the African elephant, Oryx, gerenuk, African buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.. Over 365 species of bird have been recorded in the reserve. The river is home to hippos and crocodiles. Somali ostriches are widespread within the national reserve.
