This old building was built between 1593 and 1596 and was maintained by the Portuguese in the coast and is recognized as a successful attempt by the western power to establish influence over the Indian ocean trade. This place served as a security and safety place for the Portuguese. Visit this place and learn all about the Indian ocean trade.

2. Haller Park

If you thought Mombasa is all about water attractions, you are wrong!
Haller Park, a nature park open to the public, home to a vivid range of wildlife such as hippos, giraffes, buffaloes antelopes and a few birds can also be found at the park.

The park comprises a fish farm area, a giraffe viewing platform, a game sanctuary, a palm garden, crocodile pens and a reptile park.
Visit this place and witness a friendship of its kind; Owen and Mzee, a hippo and tortoise that have a bond that amuses every single person.

3. Marine National Park And Reserve

This stunning reserve provides a home for a number of waterline including; crabs, turtles, corals, starfish, stone fish among others. There is presence of coral reefs in the waters as well. It is recognized as one of the most beautiful marine parks as it is filled with coral reefs. This park also holds a lot of fun activities in it such as;

  • Snorkeling
  • Fishing
  • Boat riding
  • Viewing marine life.

4. Pembe Za Ndovu, Mombasa

These huge tusks mark the entrance of Mombasa. They were built to commemorate the visit of Queen Elizabeth in 1952. The tusks are made of aluminum. They are a tourist attraction as you will often see tourists stopping just to take a photo or two with the tusks behind them.

5. Mamba Village

This is the largest East Africa crocodile farm which you cannot afford to miss during your visit to Mombasa. Get to learn more about the crocodiles life cycle and behavior and see them in different sizes, from hatchlings to adults. Do not miss the restaurant meals as they prepare crocodile meat, zebra meat, ostrich meat and others. There are other activities such as; Carmel and horse riding, boat riding and many more.

6. Bombolulu Workshops And Cultural Center

Have lunch, dance and shop in this center that has many gift shops with items such as jewelry, leather items, woodwork pieces and even some tailored items from talented locals from within the area.

 

7. Go- Karting

Karting is a fun activity that can be participated by every member of a family during the vacation stay in Mombasa. 8. Swim In The Beach

Pirates beach

This is a public beach known as ‘Jomo Kenyatta public beach’. It is a famous beach for locals and many family units that want to swim and have fun. Come and relax, have fun, eat and enjoy triumphant blue waters.
