Overview
This adventure takes you on a journey to one of the active salt lakes in the south. Lake Magadi is the southernmost lake in the Kenyan Rift Valley, lying in a catchment of faulted volcanic rocks, north of Tanzania’s Lake Natron.
A well-known destination for its wading birds and vast wildlife found around the lake covering over 100 sq km and has a distinctive pink and white color formed by crystallized alkaline soda deposits.
Lake Magadi hot springs are entirely natural, but unlike the swimming pool at Olkaria Naivasha, the temperatures are quite similar to that of a normal pool.
At some points, the springs are little more than a hole in the ground full of extremely hot water. A dip in these springs is always best at any time of the day.
