Overview
Ngare Ndare forest is located in Timau, Meru at the foothills of Mt. Kenya. The lush indigenous forest is a vital corridor of the elephants and links lewa conservancy.
The forest is ideal for hiking and forest adventure, it has a tree canopy walk where you can be able to see the elephants passing.
For the birders, there are plenty of birds in the forest. There is an amazing waterfall with a blue azure pool ideal for swimming activities and water games as well.

Itinerary
- 06.30hrs Meet up and pick guests at a designated pick-up point in Nairobi. Guests will be met and assisted by our Team Leader/ Facilitator (s) & driver (s), departing Nairobi for Meru, a 4 hrs drive to Laikipia through the Aberdares and Central Kenya region, with sightings of the Snow, capped Mount Kenya, and the beautiful mountain ranges in the central highlands of Kenya with a stopover at Makuyu/ Sagana.
- We will a brief stop at the Equator where the client can take pictures at the equator or do shopping of African wears at nearby curio shops in support of the locals then depart for Ngare Ndare, in Timau, Meru County
- On arrival in Ngare Ndare Forest Reserve, have a 45 minutes introduction session, team bonding fun, and games
- Later proceed for a 45-60 minutes (Dependent on walking pace) hike to the waterfall accompanied by an armed ranger exploring the indigenous forest.
- Enjoy a swim dip in the natural azure pools glistering at the bottom of the waterfalls and adventure into the 200-year-old trees in the forest that support a rich variety of bird and animal life.
- After this, the guests will hike back to the reserve base, and proceed to do a canopy walk on a 40 ft. high aerial bridge of wire mesh and cables extending 450 meters long.
- The walkway ends at a wooden platform 30ft. high, where you can relax and enjoy a view of the river from this elevated vantage point.
- Depart for Nairobi, arriving at 2100hrs
